Sterling Heights Dentist Offers New Dental Technology for Same-Day Treatments

Since 2004, Dr. Michael Young has provided CEREC in Sterling Heights for minimally invasive dentistry that looks natural.

2012-02-29
STERLING HEIGHTS, MI, February 29, 2012 (Press-News.org) Patients can experience same-day care with metal-free restorations with Sterling Heights CEREC technology at Forever Young Dentistry. Dr. Michael Young, Sterling Heights dentist, is pleased to continue to offer his patients increased care with CEREC technology. CEREC allows Dr. Young to provide patients with minimally invasive dentistry that looks natural.

"Dental crowns, or caps, have been used to fix broken or decayed teeth for over one hundred years. As dentistry has advanced, so have various procedures," stated Dr. Michael Young, emergency dentist in Sterling Heights. "While there is nothing wrong with completing crowns in multiple visits, CEREC has invented a strong, all porcelain crown that can be made in about an hour."

Patients no longer have to wait two or more visits before their tooth is fully restored. This means less drilling, fewer injections, and less time out of a patient's hectic schedule for the dental care they need.

With the CEREC system, Dr. Young, sedation dentist in Sterling Heights, can create beautiful life-like porcelain restorations for a patient's damaged teeth. An infrared camera takes images of the tooth after shaping. Next, a CAD-CAM computer program immediately downloads the images of the teeth to create a three-dimensional virtual model that can be viewed and manipulated on the computer monitor.

CEREC, which stands for Ceramic Reconstruction, is a recent innovation that many dentists are using to provide natural looking crowns faster than traditional crown procedures. This is a computer-aided design and computer-aided manufacturing, or CAD-CAM, for the creation of a dental crown. The computer-aided technology eliminates the laboratory step in manufacturing a crown, which allows Dr. Young, Sterling Heights emergency dentist, tom complete a patient's restoration in one visit.

Dr. Michael Young, dentist in Sterling Heights, is committed to delivering every patient the longevity of oral health care they deserve. He is equipped with the necessary education, technology and experience to provide unparalleled results that are vital to any dental procedure in order to help patients improve their confidence and smile, which is further showcased through the continual success of CEREC at Forever Young Dentistry.

How Common is Nursing Home Abuse?

2012-02-29
According to the National Center on Elder Abuse (NCEA), precise statistics on nursing home abuse and neglect are difficult to ascertain. This is due in part because definitions of abuse and neglect are wide ranging, and there is not federal center that collects data about nursing home abuse. However, the NCEA report Elder Mistreatment: Abuse, Neglect and Exploitation ...
