Why Brits are Still Dead Set on Holidays in 2012 and 2013

Why Brits are Still Dead Set on Holidays in 2012 and 2013
2012-03-01
ESSEX, ENGLAND, March 01, 2012 (Press-News.org) After much doom and gloom in the media surrounding the travel industry recently, most notably the near-collapse of one of Britain's biggest tour operators, alongside the economic issues in much of Europe, we'd be forgiven for choosing to abscond from holidays abroad this year. However, Ocean Florida notes that it has seen a significant rise in departures to Orlando for the often-quieter winter months November, December and January, as off-peak prices are too good to ignore. The weather in Florida is more temperate and the parks are less crowded and this has resulted in it becoming a prime time to visit.

Rather than giving in to the January blues in 2012, many families, couples and groups of friends are looking ahead to this year and next and taking advantage of the fantastic airline sales, particularly to Florida and other parts of the USA, which have been fiercely promoted in various campaigns. For example Ocean Florida's Big Brand Sale, launched in the busy period between Christmas and New Year, features a wide selection of hotel, villa, cruise and stay and multi centre deals for 2012 and 2013 holidays.

Harry Hastings, Director at Ocean Florida, comments: "Holidays abroad are still one of the most important things for many families to spend their hard-earned money on, we can sacrifice a car or house upgrade but when it comes to our annual or bi-annual trips they take precedence".

Year on year Florida, in particular holidays in Orlando, continues to be the ultimate family holiday destination. A combination of heavily discounted accommodation prices, excellent flight deals with some of Britain's best and most popular scheduled airlines, Virgin Atlantic and British Airways, as well as low deposit booking options, means that there's never been a better time to book Disney World holidays.

Hastings continues: "The demand is not just for Florida holidays, more of our customers than ever before are opting for unique multi centre itineraries, which include Orlando as well as various iconic US destinations like New York, Las Vegas or Washington DC. Or even cruise and stay getaways an increasingly preferred holiday option, especially due to its flexibility and great value, which incorporates the beautiful Caribbean."

High cholesterol is a risk factor for cardiovascular disease and stroke. The FDA changes to the statin labels include: Revising the drug labels to remove ...

Sperm counts!

Sperm counts!
2012-03-01
It had long been assumed that the human sperm cell's mission in life ended once it had transferred its freight of parental DNA to the egg. More recently however, other components of sperm have been implicated in fertilization, and perhaps even in subsequent embryonic development. In a new study appearing in the Proceedings of the Royal Society, Timothy Karr, a researcher at Arizona State University's Biodesign Institute, along with colleagues from the Universities of Cambridge and Bath, England, examine messenger RNA (mRNA) transcripts present in the sperm of both fruitflies ...

New model provides different take on planetary accretion

New model provides different take on planetary accretion
2012-03-01
The prevailing model for planetary accretion, also called fractal assembly, and dating back as far as the 18th century, assumes that the Solar System's planets grew as small grains colliding chaotically, coalescing into bigger ones, colliding yet more until they formed planetesimals. The planetesimals then collided until they formed planets as varied as the Earth and Jupiter. The model assumes that this occurred in an extremely hot (as high as 1,600 degrees Celsius) environment for the inner Solar System, fostered by a dusty, two-dimensional disk post-dating the Sun. The ...
