Maruekhathaiyawan Palace will be the venue for the colourful celebration, which will showcase all manner of creatively assembled kites from around the world, including traditionally-styled entries and cutting-edge designs.
 
The central kite show will feature contributions from 38 teams representing 17 countries, including kites inspired by Thai culture, amazing stunt kites, radio-controlled models from Singapore and award-winning French creations.
 
During the festival, there will be plenty of opportunities for attendees to learn about the history of kites and kite-making through various talks and competitions, as well as art shows and hands-on craft sessions.
 
Meanwhile, a wide variety of competition events are also being organised, allowing visitors of all ages and levels of experience to create their own kites to fly and display in exchange for prizes.
 
Visitors will also enjoy taking in the splendour of the Maruekhathaiyawan Palace venue, an Italian-designed building that is otherwise known as the "palace of love and hope".
