MADRID, SPAIN, March 01, 2012 (Press-News.org) The Philip Glass Ensemble are due to perform at Madrid's Auditorio Nacional de Musica on Wednesday April 25th.
Fans of the influential and prolific American composer will see him play a selection of his own works composed between 1971 and 1998 at this one-off concert, with the backing of his chamber group.
Glass is due to perform music taken from compositions such as Civil Wars, Music in Twelve Parts and his soundtrack to The Truman Show.
Now 75, the Baltimore-born musician is regarded as one of the most important composers of the late 20th century.
He is credited with pioneering 'minimalism' as a new style in classical music, although Glass is known to dislike the term and has attempted to distance himself from it.
Tickets for the Madrid concert, which is due to begin at 19:30 local time, can be purchased online. They are priced at EUR15 (GBP12.70) for seats in Zone A and EUR10 for Zone B.
Classical music fans will find a wide array of hotels in Madrid at LateRooms.com, such as the Hesperia Madrid.
This five-star hotel is located on the Paseo de la Castellana, at the heart of the Spanish capital's commercial centre.
