PENANG, MALAYSIA, March 01, 2012 (Press-News.org) Malaysia will play host to musical acts from across the globe at the upcoming Penang World Music Festival, which will be taking place for the third time at the Quarry Recreational Park at the Botanic Gardens Penang.
To be held from March 30th to April 1st 2012, the event has been billed as a "convergence of harmonic fusion" and will see thousands of attendees turning up to see a diverse range of performances.
Many of the musicians will be popular local acts performing in contemporary and traditional styles, including Didit Dinai, the Aseana Percussion Unit, Geng Wak Long, Rentak Balai and the Penang Dhol Blasters.
They will be joined by talented groups from all corners of the map, such as Mongolia's Altan Urag, Beoga from Ireland, the Griff Trio from Belgium and Russia's Loyko.
Performances will run each day from 14:00 to 00:00 local time at the Botanic Gardens, a scenic venue within easy reach of Penang's city centre via bus.
Single day tickets cost 90 ringgits (GBP18.80) for adults and 45 ringgits for children, while passes for all three days can also be purchased for a discounted rate.
