Organised by Active Management Asia, the sprint adventure race will see participants gathering in Pattaya City on April 7th at 08:00 local time to embark on a testing trip along Pattaya Bay and the nearby hillside trails.

Disciplines will include running, mountain biking, swimming and other surprise challenges, with the event designed to help promote healthy lifestyles and environmental issues, as well as bolstering Thailand's credentials as a tourist hotspot.

The Amazing Thailand Adventure Race Series is supported by the Tourism Authority of Thailand and has proven an increasingly popular attraction in recent years.

Registration fees are 1,350 baht (GBP27.80) for those booking before March 25th, with the price including a souvenir T-shirt, a commemorative medal and a paid-for lunch, while students can take part for only 450 baht.

Competitors must have with them a mountain bike, helmet and bicycle repair kit - which can be rented if needs be - as well as two litres of water.
