PARIS, FRANCE, March 29, 2012 (Press-News.org) Iconic painter Cima da Conegliano will be the focus of a new exhibition called Cima da Conegliano: Master of the Venetian Renaissance, which will be held at the Musee du Luxembourg in Paris from April 5th to July 15th 2012.

More than 30 works from the artist's career will be on display at the event, allowing visitors to trace the evolution of his craft over the years, as well as learn more about his influence on Venetian and European culture.

Born Giovanni Battista Cima in 1459, the artist became known for his meticulous perfectionism, balanced use of colour and evocative depictions of his native area.

He was also hailed as a great innovator, being one of the first to master the relatively new technique of oil painting and constantly assimilating new ideas and techniques.

At the Master of the Venetian Renaissance show, guests will be able to see amazing works of art, such as large altarpieces that have never been shown outside Italy before.

The gallery opens from Saturday to Thursday from 10:00 to 19:30 local time, while Friday offers extended opening hours of 10:00 to 22:00.
