25 September 2010. What is the future of the green movement? Shane Snipes, Sustainability Expert, is traveling across 48-states and conducting 1000 interviews across the United States to find out.

Shane, called "one of the most innovative and dedicated proponents of the Green Movement", hosts the Sustainable 1000 Eco Road Trip. In Just 250 days, Shane has the opportunity to interview 1000 politicians, celebrities and community leaders about the future of sustainability from April to November. Some interviews include Oscar-winning Producer of The Cove, O.A.R. bassist and Ben Gershman, Mayors of Greensburg (from Planet Green series) and Grand Rapids, Sierra Nevada Brewery's sustainability director, senators, and hundreds more.

Starting just 3 weeks before the BP oil spill, Shane has a revived sense of meaning to find solutions to relieve America's addiction to foreign oil. Considering the United States uses 22% of oil internationally with only around 4% of the world's population this is a momentous task.

Into September, Shane travels across the Great Lakes region into Canada and is now heading down into New England for the home stretch along the east coast. Driving thoughtful in his Prius, Shane has already engaged tens of thousands of interested participants via social media, including YouTube, Facebook, Blog Talk Radio, Twitter and Qik.

This comprehensive view of environmentalism enables Americans to consider the breadth of solutions driving the green economy internationally. The biggest question in the minds of environmentalists, "When will the green economy develop?" Shane has discover many answers to this question. Some unique to each state and many that overlap and complement each other.

Sustainable 1000 aims to build relationships among community leaders, including numerous different voices into the conversation. A new age of green will require communication and community-building, and engaging alternative points of view are essential. "Inspiration is the key to sustainability. Through our work, we can inspire people to find their own passions and add these to the chorus of sustainable solutions."

This is why Sustainable 1000 Eco Road Trip is just the beginning; international plans are on the horizon, including considering sustainability regionally and culturally in 2011 and beyond. With such a successful series online, other media are being considered as well.
