Wine and Design Triad Offers Kids Summer Camp Painting Classes and Mixed-Medium Crafts

Art Buzz Four-week program will cater to kids ages five to twelve and will offer a variety of hands-on creative projects

2012-04-10
JAMESTOWN, NC, April 10, 2012 (Press-News.org) Wine and Design Triad has announced their 2012 kids' summer camp schedule, which will feature hands-on activities, painting opportunities, and mixed-medium crafts. Art Buzz, the studio's kids' division, will offer four one-week classes for children ages 5 to 12 at their studio located at 121 East Main Street in Jamestown. Themes center on the sea and jungle.

Wine and Design Triad is owned and operated by Jenny Ragsdale. The studio opened its doors to the Triad area in April 2011 and was the first franchise operation of the popular painting party company. Wine and Design provides the canvas, cover-up, paints, paintbrushes, and corkscrew and attendees provide a beverage of his or her choosing. First-time painters, aspiring artists, or self-proclaimed pro's browse the studio's website to find a painting they would like to replicate. Sessions are led by local artists that guide participants through a carefully-orchestrated, step-by-step process that promises a finished "masterpiece" at the end of the two-hour session. Ragsdale says that Wine and Design has proved so popular with adults, that she's excited to broaden her base with paintings and activities suited for younger artists.

"Regardless of age, everyone likes to have fun," says Ragsdale. "Children especially love chances to break from rules and boundaries and just explore their creativity. Our Art Buzz program and summer camp provide a great opportunity for kids to make friends, explore different art media, and create something that's uniquely their own. It's going to be a great summer!"

Summer camp offerings are "Under the Sea" from June 11-15 for ages 5 to 8, "In the Jungle" from June 18-22 for ages 9 to 12, "In the Jungle" from July 16-20 for ages 5 to 8, and "Under the Sea" from July 23-27 for ages 9-12. Camps run from 9:00am to 1:00pm and cost per camp is $175 per child and $150 for each sibling.

In addition to its summer camp program, Art Buzz also has regularly scheduled classes for younger artists and hosts kids' birthday parties.
