FARMINGTON HILLS, MI, September 28, 2010 (Press-News.org) Ciena Healthcare, a leading provider of skilled nursing and rehabilitation facilities in Michigan, announces that Fountain View of Monroe has been recognized as a 2010 recipient of the "Bronze - Commitment to Quality" National Quality Award. The award is given annually by the American Health Care Association and National Center for Assisted Living (AHCA/NCAL), a trade organization with approximately 11,000 members nationwide, recognizing commitment to the delivery of quality care.
"The Bronze National Quality Award demonstrates Fountain View's commitment to provide high quality patient care along with a well managed and maintained community," said Glen Lowery, administrator, Ciena Healthcare. "We are honored to be recognized by our peers in the healthcare industry with this prestigious award."
The National Quality Award program is a guide for providers of long term and post-acute care services striving for performance excellence, based on the core values and criteria of the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award Program. At the Bronze level, communities must develop an organizational profile and an awareness of their environment and consumers' expectations. They also must demonstrate their ability to improve a process as part of the application.
"This honor showcases the high level of care and professionalism we provide to our patients every day," said Kristine Halsey, chief operating officer, Ciena Healthcare. "This award is a direct reflection of the hard work and dedication of our staff at each of the communities."
Other Ciena communities to receive this award are Bloomfield Orchard Villa in West Bloomfield and Willowbrook Manor in Flint.
The award will be presented to the administrators of Bloomfield Orchard Villa, Fountain View of Monroe and Willowbrook Manor during AHCA/NCAL's 61st Annual Convention and Exposition, October 10-13, 2010 in Long Beach, CA.
