Owner excited to change her destiny through franchise ownership

Rochelle Scarbalis, who graduated in commercial art, decided to use her education in interior design and color theory to augment the growth of her own Five Star Painting business.Rochelle decided to open a franchise because of her desire to have both more control over her career and long- term security. Rochelle says, "Outsourcing of work overseas has affected a couple of us through job elimination, leading us to feel less secure in a corporate environment."
She considers being a mother of twins as her most important accomplishment, in part because it taught her how to balance work and family. She believes that the skills she's learned from being a working mom will help her balance various aspects of running a painting business.
Says Rochelle, "I worked a nine to five job for a large corporation where I felt I had no control over my own destiny." Rochelle left her job of thirteen years and teamed up with business partners with decades of business and financial management experience to change her career opportunities.
Rochelle sites her family as her greatest inspiration because of their "unwavering support and positive encouragement for twenty years." In her leisure time, she enjoys doing home improvement projects, cooking, reading, and spending time with friends and family.
