AdvantEdge Healthcare Solutions Completes SSAE-16 Certification

AHS demonstrates a higher level of assurance and operational visibility.

2012-05-12
WARREN, NJ, May 12, 2012 (Press-News.org) AdvantEdge Healthcare Solutions (AHS), one of the nation's leading providers of medical billing, practice management, and coding services, has announced that it has completed a SOC 1, also known as a Statement on Standards for Attestation Engagements No. 16 (SSAE 16) Type I examination, for the first of its operations centers. The certification process is underway for the other centers. The completion of this annual SOC 1 examination demonstrates that AHS is able to offer a substantially higher level of assurance and operational visibility than organizations that do not complete the SOC 1.

The completion of the SOC 1 Type I examination typifies AHS's continued commitment to create and maintain the most stringent controls needed to ensure the highest quality and security of services provided to its customers. The Service Auditors' Report issued by 360 Advanced, with an unqualified opinion, proves that AHS' control activities were effectively placed in operation as of the report date.

"The SOC 1 certification demonstrates our commitment to providing quality service and transparency to customers who entrust us with critical information" said David Langsam, President and CEO of AHS. "As regulations become more stringent and difficult to navigate, hospitals, large physician groups, and surgery centers can look to AHS as a trusted partner for managing billing and other financial processes, and meet the standards established by their internal and external auditors."

The Service Auditors' Report includes a detailed description of AHS' controls and an independent assessment of whether the controls are placed in operation and suitably designed. To receive a copy of the Service Auditors' Report, or for any further questions, please contact Bill Gilbert at bgilbert@ahsrcm.com.

SSAE 16, developed by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), is the most widely recognized authoritative guidance that provides service organizations a uniform method for disclosing independently assessed information about the design and operation of internal controls related to their services. The certification was performed by Accell TAC, P.A., d/b/a 360 Advanced.
