At the World Cup, Chris Cooley will compete against some of the best Kia technicians from around the world.
To earn a spot at the World Cup, Cooley first had to achieve one of the top scores in an online qualifying test, which earned him a Level III Kia Master Technician status. He also had to receive positive customer responses on customer satisfaction surveys, as well as a Kia Motors America regional office endorsement.
After achieving the above, Cooley competed in a field of 16 of the best technicians from around the country at the 2012 Kia Skill National Cup at Kia's corporate headquarters in Irvine, CA. He took first place in the Western Division and second place overall, earning him a coveted spot representing the United States at the World Cup.
Cooley has been an automotive technician for eight years and has been with Salazar Kia for a year and a half. He is a certified Kia Master Elite Technician, a certified ASE Master Technician, and a certified Advanced Level Engine Performance Specialist.
