LONG ISLAND, NY, May 18, 2012 (Press-News.org) Meat Loaf's recent album is an eclectic blend of music comprising everything from rock and roll to country. He expects to preform songs from this new album, "Hell in a Handbasket", in his upcoming Mad, Mad World Tour.
In a recent interview with TheCelebrityCafe.com, Meat Loaf spoke about the making of his eclectic new album.
"I make all of my albums eclectic. If you went back to the first one I ever did on Motown, Stoney and Meatloaf, that thing's eclectic," Meat Loaf said. "They're very thematic. They may sound eclectic, but it's very thematic and, there's a thread that runs through it that connects everything."
From "Live or Die" to "California Dreaming" the album takes you on an emotional journey. Meat Loaf compares the emotion and passion he has for music making to acting. Although he does not write most of his songs, he still finds a way to put his own spin on them to make them personal.
"I find that in music that the simplistic attitude is that if you don't write it you can't possibly feel it, or believe it or live it. They know nothing about the reality of acting. Acting is about real. Acting is about truth. Doing this album is about truth. It's about conveying the truth about these songs," Meat Loaf explained.
Starting practice in a couple of days, Meat Loaf expects his Mad, Mad World Tour to be more dramatic than any tour before. Although he is playing some old songs, he constantly updates them with minor changes to make them better and more modern.
"In fact, I can tell you, we start, and what you hear when the lights go down is the Beatles singing 'When I'm 64.' Then it goes into this loop and it's like an updated Bo Diddley loop and it lasts, in the dark, for about 4 minutes, and it's meant to drive people crazy," Meat Loaf described. "It's meant to get them going, 'OK, come on, let's go.' You know, it's meant to make them nervous."
Meat Loaf's Mad, Mad World Tour begins on June 22 and runs through the 2nd of August across the United States.
