2012-06-14
WESTCHESTER, CA, June 14, 2012 (Press-News.org) After months of transitioning Westchester's own Vergari Dance Center from its Manchester Avenue home of more than 30 years to its new identity as Los Angeles Arts Collective (LAAC) and its new, custom-outfitted studio at 8939 S. Sepulveda Boulevard, Suite 105, the LAAC team announces its Saturday, June 16th Grand Opening and Open House. The afternoon's events will include free performances and classes from 1:30pm to 5pm, following the official ribbon cutting at 1pm.

"We have built such an amazing dance family over the last 30 years at Vergari Dance Center," said LAAC Director Lisa Hamor. "We are thrilled to open the doors to our new location and to reconnect with that family and help it grow with the additional arts opportunities available with our new space."

LAAC will be featuring its extensive summer programs during the June 16th open house with free 30-minute versions of its dance, singing, acting and movement courses. These sample classes are open to anyone, at any level of experience, from eight years old to adult and will be held from 1:30-4:30pm.

For children ages three through seven, LAAC's Creative Kidz program will offer free craft and other creative activities running parallel to the class schedule. The LAAC's open house will conclude with free performances by LAAC faculty and guest artists from 4:30-5pm.

"We believe Los Angeles Arts Collective offers children and adults something truly special," said LAAC Artistic Director Marissa Moses. "Our programs and staff offer some of the most innovative performing arts training and experiential opportunities available in LA, and we're grateful for all the support and encouragement that has enabled us to achieve the goal of our grand opening."

"And, with our new space and our fresh start, we are even better equipped to continue empowering and supporting our students and community through arts education and expression," Moses added.

LAAC's Grand Opening and Open House is open to the public and is free of charge. To sign up for or explore LAAC summer camps, classes and intensive training sessions, please visit the LAAC website at http://www.la-arts-collective.com/store.
