Murata Machinery USA's Introducing the New MW40Twin Spindle CNC Chucker at IMTS 2012

Murata's Machine Tool Turning Division, supplier of twin- and single-spindle automated turning centers, will introduce the new MW40 at the upcoming IMTS 2012 tradeshow.

2012-06-25
CHARLOTTE, NC, June 25, 2012 (Press-News.org) Murata Machinery USA, Inc., a leading manufacturer of machinery for the metal-cutting industry, will introduce its new MW40 Twin Spindle CNC Chucker at IMTS 2012, one of the largest industrial manufacturing technology shows in the world, being held September 10-15, 2012, at McCormick Place in Chicago, IL. Those attending IMTS 2012 can see the MW40 in action for the first time at Booth #S-8874. A subsidiary of Murata Machinery Ltd., based in Kyoto, Japan, Murata Machinery's machine tool division produces a variety of high-productivity machines for the metal-cutting industry.

"The MW40 gives manufacturers the ability to produce extremely precise small parts, with workpiece sizes of less than 50mm," explained Steve Landrum, North American Sales Manager, Murata Machinery USA, Inc. "This makes it ideal for process integration of small parts production, within a compact footprint."

The MW40 automates the mass production of small, high-precision parts with a maximum workpiece size of 50 mm D x 90 mm L. The rigidity of its turret design is what enables the MW40 to process parts so precisely, with less than 5 microns of thermal displacement. Its turret is available with an optional live-tool-capable Y axis, with a +/- 25 mm stroke, which allows the turret to move up and down. A completely separate bed minimizes the transfer of harmonic vibrations from the opposite spindle. The MW40 is also compatible with Muratec's high-speed, integral, intelligent, three-axis CNC gantry loader, which easily integrates versatile automation into almost any manufacturing environment.

Murata Machinery USA, Inc. is a world leader in manufacturing automated material-handling systems, machine-tool technology and textile machinery. The Machine Tool Turning Division supplies twin- and single-spindle automated turning centers that provide innovative technology and compact designs for high productivity with intelligent gantry-loader material handling.

Users of Muratec's automated CNC turning lathes include aerospace manufacturing, automotive engineering and other industries that depend on precision, high-speed turning machines. All Muratec turning machines incorporate environmentally friendly, semi-dry cutting features to reduce dust, oil mist and odor for a safer work environment.
