HONG KONG, June 27, 2012 (Press-News.org) Hong Kong visitors can get involved in a celebration of books and reading at the ninth Hong Kong Literature Festival.
Running from June 28th to July 15th 2012, it will encompass a variety of activities aimed at engaging people with literature.
This year's theme will be Affections Between the Lines, with a number of eminent writers, scholars, cultural critics and literary groups set to share their views on the emotional content of various books during the festival.
Events include a thematic exhibition showcasing materials on Hong Kong literary works with strong sentimental content, as well as a number of symposia discussing lyrical traditions and forms of expression.
Other activities on the programme include a poetry recital with seven local poets, plus group reading workshops and talks on emotional creativity.
The Hong Kong Literature Festival debuted in 1997 and is organised by Hong Kong Public Libraries, with the aim of establishing the region's libraries as hubs of local literary activities.
