BARRIE, ON, June 27, 2012 (Press-News.org) The "Dear Mr. Fantasy" baseball podcast continues to adjust its format and has now added a rotating guest expert to the show. Recurring guests will be comprised of various writers and expert commentators from the fantasy baseball community.
The podcast began in January 2012 with Chris McBrien manning the show alone. A permanent co-host was introduced with the addition of the 'Fantasy Doctor', a baseball injury expert whose identity has remained anonymous. The next step for the baseball podcast has been the addition of recurring guests to the format.
"By bringing in fantasy baseball experts, we hope to add another element to the show", states McBrien, co-host and producer of the program. "The more opinions we can layer into the podcast, the more value we can deliver to the audience".
With fantasy sports growing in popularity annually, there has been an increasing need for more information on the topic. Fantasy sports now account for approximately $4 billion in annual economic impact across the sports industry.
Even though the show tackles many aspects of the fantasy baseball world including injuries, news, trades and statistics, the podcast often takes a humorous approach to its subject matter, providing entertainment as much as information.
"When it comes to sports in general, people have very strong opinions", states McBrien. "The focus of the show has always been to champion different opinions and provide a voice for as many different viewpoints as possible. If we can include as many people as possible in a way that is both fun and informative, we are achieving our goal".
The weekly podcast is recorded Sunday nights and is available through a wide range of podcast channels including iTunes, Podcast Pickle, MirPod and Podcast Alley, just to name a few.
