LOS ANGLES, CA, June 27, 2012 (Press-News.org) On Saturday, June 9th, Sea Shepherd celebrated its 35th anniversary with an event at Sea Shepherd supporter, John Paul DeJoria's Serra Retreat estate in Malibu, CA.
The event was a benefit to support the freeing of Captain Paul Watson, who is currently under house arrest in Frankfurt, Germany, and faces extradition to Costa Rica for an incident that occurred over a decade ago when he apprehended an illegal shark finning operation off the coast of Guatemala. Sea Shepherd is best-known for its reality TV show, Whale Wars, which airs on the Animal Planet network.
The event featured a performance by Australian singer/songwriter, Xavier Rudd. Celebrities in attendance included Daryl Hannah, Perrey Reeves, Rutger Hauer, and party hosts John Paul and Eloise DeJoria.
