SAN FRANCISCO, CA, June 27, 2012 (Press-News.org) "JAWSFEST Summer for the Sharks," has chosen the country's leading mobile fundraising provider, Give by Cell and its Mobile Donate solution to collect donations during this summer for shark conservation. Soon, donors may text JAWS to 56512 to receive a link to a secure mobile webpage where they can input their credit card information. With Mobile Donate, shark enthusiasts can contribute to shark conservation organizations dedicated to educating the public and raising funds for sharks. There are no restrictions on the size of the donation, and the event organizers will collect valuable email and contact information.
"We wanted high visibility, high publicity with a lot of promotion," said Susan Sigel Goldsmith, JAWSFEST producer. "It can be hard because we are not a non-profit organization, yet we're trying to raise money for several non-profit groups. We needed a solution that allowed us to control funds, with no eligibility requirements, and be able to cut a check after all the events. Give by Cell gave us that solution."
Organizers from "JAWSFEST Summer with the Sharks," will be asking to donors to text in keyword JAWS to 56512 at an outdoor screening of a shark conservation film on July 20 at Owen Park in Vineyard Haven, MA. The event will be free for the public, and a call to action will be displayed before and after the movie for supporters to text in donations.
"JAWSFEST Summer for the Sharks" will use Give by Cell's Mobile Donate to collect donations at "JAWSFEST: The Tribute," on August 9 - 12, Martha's Vineyard, MA. The event will celebrate the shark cult-classic film "Jaws" with a screening at Ocean Parkwhile also bringing attention to shark conservation. The event also includes live re-enactments, a trivia hunt, and a memorbilia museum. Shark experts will also be sharing stories and information through exhibits, educational videos, science demonstrations and more.
"At our event, we're looking to capture attention from daytrippers on Martha's Vineyard," said Goldsmith. "We wanted to take a huge gathering and give them a call to action. Going mobile is the best way to do that."
