Visualization Techniques for Planning Breast Implant Size

The best breast augmentation visualization techniques require the assistance of a board-certified plastic surgeon.

2012-06-28
PHOENIX, AZ, June 28, 2012 (Press-News.org) The best breast augmentation visualization techniques require the assistance of a board-certified plastic surgeon. Your breast surgeon will be able to provide you with tools such as implant samples and computer imaging that can be incredibly helpful in determining the size of breast implants that will most enhance your natural frame.

Prior to your initial consultation with your breast surgeon, you can perform some simple at-home visualization techniques as well. This can help save some time during your initial consultation, allowing you to focus more on all of your other breast implant options.

At-Home Visualization Techniques for Breast Augmentation

One of the most popular at-home techniques is called the "rice test." To perform this test, fill a stocking with rice, place it underneath your bra, and see how the size looks in proportion to your natural curves.

When doing the rice test, remember that breast implants are measured by cubic centimeters (CC), which is a volume measurement. Telling your breast surgeon you want a "D-cup" is relatively useless. Telling your breast surgeon you liked how 236cc looked is, by contrast, very helpful.

As a guide:

- 1/8 cup of rice = 30cc
- 1/4 cup or rice = 59cc
- 1/2 cup of rice = 118cc
- 2/3 cup of rice = 156cc
- 3/4 cup of rice = 177cc
- 1 cup of rice = 236cc

Using the same guide, this test can also be performed with a zip-sealed plastic baggie and water.

Personalized Results

Ultimately, the size of breast implants that will most enhance your entire body will need to be determined by your breast surgeon. You can give your surgeon a better idea of what you are hoping to achieve by bringing pictures of breasts you find attractive to your initial consultation. With this information along with your measurements and other anatomical considerations, your breast surgeon will best be able to provide you with the personalized breast augmentation results you deserve.

Police Encouraged to Restrict Use of Tasers as More Hazards Uncovered

2012-06-28
Taser guns were developed to provide a safe and non-lethal means of subduing a potential suspect. An alternative to handguns, Tasers function by attaching two darts into a suspect. The Taser gun sends 50,000 volts of electrical current through those darts, disabling the nerves controlling a suspect's muscular system. Tasers are designed to work immediately and completely incapacitate a potential suspect. Since their introduction, law enforcement's reliance on Tasers has steadily grown. The increasing use of Tasers, sometimes referred to as stun guns, is tied to the common ...

Prudential Reports Average Brit to Make a Million by the Age of 56

New research* from Prudential has revealed that the average UK worker will have earned GBP1 million by the time they are 56 years, nine months and three weeks old.
