Ohio Homecoming Launches The614Life Photo Project to Celebrate Columbus' Bicentennial

A community-driven, photo-based creative art project that will become a public, mosaic art piece, The614Life - made possible by Ohio Homecoming - allows supporters of Columbus to become a part of the city they know and love.

2012-06-28
COLUMBUS, OH, June 28, 2012 (Press-News.org) In conjunction with 200Columbus, Blind Acre, and Orange Barrel Media, Ohio Homecoming has launched The614Life, a community-driven, photo-based creative art project that will utilize user-submitted pictures to create a large, public, mosaic art piece in downtown Columbus. The project was inspired by the Columbus Bicentennial and complements the 200Columbus initiative.

Every approved photo uploaded by a participant of The614Life will be included as one of the thousands of pictures that will compose the mosaic. Additionally, all participants will receive a limited edition print of the final art piece. The contributions generated by photo uploads to The614Life will also be used in support of Ohio Homecoming's community service initiatives and civic pride mission in Columbus.

While the public installation location of the final mosaic is yet to be determined, it will be a highly visible location in downtown Columbus. When completed, the mosaic will feature up to 20,000 images sourced from Columbus and its surrounding communities. This innovative art piece will give Columbus supporters a chance to leave their mark on the city they love and receive a unique keepsake in honor of the bicentennial.
