CARY, NC, October 01, 2010 (Press-News.org) The 45th Annual Parade of Homes, presented by the Home Builders Association (HBA) of Raleigh-Wake County, will now be accessible in the palm of your hand with a new iPhone application this year. The Parade of Homes iPhone app will allow parade visitors to easily interact with the 187 homes on the tour. Users of the app can filter and search parade home information by price, builder, community, square feet and location, as well as get directions, view home information, and watch video tours. The Parade of Homes app is available for free and can be downloaded from the iTunes store.
"The iPhone app brings the Parade of Homes into the Information Age," said Tim Minton, executive vice president of the HBA of Raleigh - Wake County. "This app will easily transition the parade into the online world, and with more homes that can be visited in three weekends, will allow users to virtually tour all homes."
The app includes a location map to easily find homes and a GPS to get the best driving directions. Additionally, the Parade of Homes iPhone App has interactive tools like saving favorite homes, watching video tours, and seeing interior home pictures that are not included in the traditional, printed parade book. Currently, the app can be used by all iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch users. Future versions plan to include an app for Android phones.
The application is produced by Camelot Design Group, a marketing company in the new home industry, and Pathos Ethos, specialists in mobile application design.
"The goal of the Parade of Homes iPhone App is to provide a more interactive and exciting experience for parade guests," said Chris Moody, art director at Camelot Design Group. "We also hope that visitors from outside of the Triangle area, who are interested in this market, will now be able to visually tour one of the largest parades in the country!"
The 2010 Parade of Homes will run Oct. 2-3, 8-10 & 15-17. Visit www.hbawake.com for more information on the parade.
