CHELTENHAM, ENGLAND, October 01, 2010 (Press-News.org) People looking to make their stay in the Cotswolds go with a bang may like to consider a trip to the annual fireworks display at Cheltenham Racecourse.
Taking place at the Gloucestershire venue on Saturday November 6th this year, the event promises to be spectacular night of colourful pyrotechnics and other entertainment.
Organised by the local Round Table, the Bonfire Night celebration is believed to be the largest fireworks display in the south-west.
It traditionally attracts more than 10,000 people to the racecourse and this year's display looks set to be just as big, with street performers, a fun fair and plenty of food and drink.
For people with Cotswold hotel reservations, the event also provides an opportunity to visit one of the country's top racing venues.
Situated in a natural amphitheatre, Cheltenham Racecourse has its own steam railway station on the Gloucestershire Warwickshire Railway heritage line and hosts major events throughout the year.
These include the four-day Cheltenham Festival in March - one of the most prestigious events on the racing calendar - and the Wychwood music festival in June.
Tickets for the fireworks display are priced at GBP5 for adults and GBP3 for children under the age of 14. The gates will open at 17:00 GMT, with the display due to begin at 19:00.
