Kim Clijsters Kicks off her Final Wimbledon in Style
29 year old Kim Clijsters has kicked off her final Wimbledon before she retires for the second and final time by coasting through the first two rounds in straight sets to progress through to a 3rd round tie with Russian Vera Zvonareva.
BRIERLEY HILL, ENGLAND, June 30, 2012
After an injury plagued season, the former world number one now feels she can push on for at least another few rounds, maintaining that if she can play at her best she can cause a few more upsets over some big names.Clijsters' return after such a string of injury troubles shows just how unstoppable she is, just like the Citizen watches that she is a proud ambassador of. Kim wears the Citizen Eco-Drive watches and has been associated with them for some time, showing it is a partnership that works.
The Eco-Drive range from Citizen watches are a group of watches that all gain their energy from light. They then harness that energy to create one of the most eco friendly ranges of watches available on the market.
If the watches she so proudly endorses are anything to go by and if her first and second round performances are any forecast of what is to come this Wimbledon, then it will be tough for anyone to stop the 47th seeded Belgian from reaching the only grand slam final which has eluded her.
Kim has entered the championships unseeded, but that is not to suggest she isn't going to go all the way, taking a few more big name scalps on her way, as she is set to be more determined than ever with this being her last year on the pro circuit.
