MIAMI, FL, July 02, 2012 (Press-News.org) On June 21, 2012, the Miami lawyers of Freidin - Dobrinsky secured a jury verdict for a Florida woman injured during a blood draw by a student phlebotomist. A Clearwater jury found in favor of Amy Sanchez, awarding her almost $300,000 after she was injured by a phlebotomist trained by Ultimate Medical Academy in Clearwater, Florida.

Manuel L. Dobrinsky and Eric Bluestein of Freidin - Dobrinsky represented Ms. Sanchez in her lawsuit against the academy for failure to properly train and supervise students in its phlebotomy program. Sanchez suffered physical injury when another student damaged nerves in her arm during an attempted blood draw.

Ultimate Medical Academy attempted to put Sanchez at fault for the problems that resulted from the poorly-trained and poorly supervised student phlebotomist's attempt to draw her blood, claiming that she failed to follow her doctor's orders after the incident. The Florida jury was not convinced and found Ultimate Medical Academy at fault.

Dobrinsky and Bluestein will next present a motion for attorney's fees and costs to the court to ensure that United Medical Academy, and not Amy Sanchez, bears full responsibility for the injury it caused by poorly training phlebotomists enrolled in its teaching programs.
