Winners Announced for 2010 Retensa Green Grant: Free HR Services for Green Organizations

Announcing the winners of the 2010 Retensa Green Grant, an initiative designed to advance environmentally responsible organizations by creating exceptional work environments.

The free service grant supports environmentally focused companies providing green services, creating green energy, and developing green products or food. The service awards enable organizations to leverage Retensa's expertise in attracting, recruiting, training, and retaining top talent in the green industry. As winners implement talent management best practices throughout the Employee Life Cycle, they will gain a competitive advantage by focusing on innovation and growth through their employees.

The 2010 Winners of the First Annual Retensa Green Grant are, in alphabetical order:

• Greensaw Design & Build: An eco-conscious construction company dedicated to using architectural salvage, Greensaw respects history, our environment, and the materials with which it works with. • Project Wildlife: Established in 1972, Project Wildlife works with purpose and passion on behalf of wild animals in Southern California, encouraging sustainable solutions through resolution of wildlife conflicts, animal rehabilitation, volunteerism, and conservation education. • SunWorks Solar Systems: A green energy company that provides solar energy design and installation since 1973. SunWorks is a fast-growing company with tremendous employment opportunities. • Robert Dombrowski is President & Principal Scientist of the Technical/Scientific Consultancy, Nanoview Associates, LLC. He is a multidisciplinary scientist with a BS in Biological Sciences & MS in Materials Science from Rutgers University. The key knowledge competency that Mr. Dombrowski employs in carrying out his work is Sustainability through Green Materials Science.

• Rick Fedrizzi, U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) founding chairman in 1993, and current President and CEO since 2004. Under his leadership, USGBC has tripled its membership and cemented its role as a leadership voice in the global sustainability movement. Rick and the USGBC were recognized as visionaries in sustainability with an Honor Award by the National Building Museum in 2009.

• Marc Levy is Deputy Director of the Center for International Earth Science Information Network (CIESIN), part of the Earth Institute at Columbia University, and an adjunct professor in Columbia's School of International and Public Affairs. He is an expert on social aspects of sustainable development.

• Paul Smith of GreenSmith Consulting helps companies create buzz and business for green (and greening) companies, via social media. His clients include consumer, media, clean tech, NGOs, social ventures, and museums. He is a blogger for Triple Pundit and GreenSmith Consulting.
