United Water Restoration: Flooding is Year-Round Reality

Recent floods in Minnesota and Wisconsin have caused a large amount of damage and a heavy need for emergency control within the affected areas. United Water Restoration Group comments on the damage and highlights the importance of quick remediation.

2012-07-06
NEW YORK, NY, July 06, 2012 (Press-News.org) A recent article from CNN highlights the severe flash flooding in Wisconsin and Minnesota areas. While the flooding was quick, very few were injured in both incidents; however, travel and property were heavily affected. United Water Restoration Group deals with flooding repair every year in the state of Florida and adds that these recent incidents should caution homeowners everywhere to reassess the potential.

The damage in Minnesota was so extensive that Gov. Mark Dayton plans to ask for federal assistance funding to repair some of the impacted areas. According to Minnesota state officials, "Hundreds of people in the cities of Barnum, Moose Lake and Thomson were either partially or fully evacuated, and the city of Willow River was under a boil-water order." Likewise, flooding damage in Duluth, Minnesota caused panic among citizens and officials. While several were reported to take cover at local shelters, there were no dead residents reported. However, the article states, "The flooding washed out roads and bridges, inundated neighborhoods and killed 11 animals at the Duluth zoo."

While United Water Restoration Group believes that both states responded as best as they could have during the incidents, the coping and repair process may be one that takes some time. Following the same logic, Duluth Chief Administrative Officer David Montgomery was quoted on the recovery expectations, "This is going to take months in many cases. It'll take upwards to a year and into next year for some of the major items." United Water adds that while the actual event is stressful, it is the repair following the flood that can be most devastating to residents.

United Water Restoration Group urges homeowners to fully assess their insurance plans to make sure they are covered in the event of a flash flood, such as those in Minnesota and Wisconsin.

Once those elements are secure, the company notes that finding a reputable repair company can ease many of the troubles a homeowner faces as they try to piece their lives back together following the disaster. The company uses its own services as an example, "Our experts walk Florida residents through the entire process of repairing the damages sustained in the home. From setting up equipment, to billing insurance directly United Water Restoration takes care of it all."

While the flooding incidents are reported to have only happened in the previous week, United Water Restoration warns property owners that it is essential to get a response immediately. The quicker a professional analyzes the damage, the sooner insurance can process the claim and the property can be repaired.

2012-07-06
Popular culture, including movies and television shows, commonly depicts juvenile crimes as isolated incidents that have little or no impact on the offender's adult life. In the real world, though, those childhood crimes can - and do - come back to haunt juvenile offenders. A recent report by the Palm Beach Post sheds light on the ramifications of having a juvenile criminal record by telling the story of several young adults ...
