Organised by the Chinese Gourmet Association and the Taiwan Culinary Exhibition Organizing Committee, the event will explore the signature dishes and treats from the cities of Tainan, Lugang and Wanhua.
Visitors will be given an insight into the culture and history of each of these locations, which have a major influence on Taiwan's cuisine, commerce and politics.
Also at the exhibition will be a comprehensive introduction to the distinctive food of Taiwan's east coast, a region that has won international recognition for its cultural tourism offerings.
Other highlights include the Domestic Culinary Competition, which will see top chefs put their skills to the test in an array of student and professional challenges.
The Taiwan Culinary Exhibition is set to run at the Taipei World Trade Center from Friday August 17th to Monday August 20th. Proceedings will run from 09:30 to 17:30 local time on each day.
