ARLINGTON, VA, July 11, 2012 (Press-News.org) OSEHRA, (Open Source Electronic Health Record Agent) the nonprofit dedicated to advancing open source electronic health records and accelerating innovation in health care information technology, announced today it has surpassed 1,000 authenticated users.
The OSEHRA community includes individuals and organizations representing more than 100 companies, federal and state governments, and students and faculty from more than 20 academic institutions and brings together users, developers, vendors, and researchers who share an interest in advancing electronic health records and related technology.
Registered users of the OSEHRA platform have full access to its state of the art, open source software development toolset including Code Repositories, Review Systems, Architecture References, Software Quality & Certification Dashboards, and Technical Journal.
The 1,000th registered user was Keith Curley, Principal Partner, Western Reserve Systems Group, LLC (WRSG) of Hudson, Ohio (http://www.wrsg.net). Founded in 1999, WRSG provides interface customization, systems integration and scalable application implementation of Cloud-Based Internet, Mobile, Database, Network and Security Management Systems for clients nationwide. WRSG has expanded into health data management and health informatics over the past few years.
As noted by Mr. Curley, "WRSG is interested in applying handheld devices and advanced database management to EMRs (Electronic Medical Records), particularly as it relates to integrating with emerging HIEs (Health Information Exchanges)." In the past, WRSG has done work the Department of Defense's Walter Reed Army Medical Center and Center for Disaster and Humanitarian Assistance Medicine (CDHAM). Mr. Curley said he looks forward to engaging with the OSEHRA community, in part, to learn more about how his company's unique technology skill-sets and experience can contribute to the future development of Veteran Affairs (VA) health information systems.
