IRVINE, CA, July 11, 2012 (Press-News.org) Stanbridge College, a technical college that offers diploma programs and Associate, Bachelor and Master of Science degrees in Healthcare and Information Technology, has become a charter member of a national program that enlists leading academic institutions to work with NPower's Community Corps to provide pro bono IT support to nonprofits and schools. NPower is a national nonprofit providing IT services to other nonprofits and training to young adults across the country.
The partnership with The Community Corps program will enable students in IT programs at Stanbridge College to work directly with IT professionals to support nonprofits with IT support and services. Students will be able to use their skills to benefit the Orange County community while earning credit towards coursework in a structured learning environment.
"We're delighted that Stanbridge students and faculty are supporting NPower's mission to close the IT gap for nonprofits," said NPower CEO Stephanie Cuskley. "This will be a real benefit to the nonprofits of Orange County as well as the Stanbridge students who participate."

The recent partnership is a part of the college's REACH - Beyond the Classroom Service Learning and Civic Engagement Initiative. Through REACH, Stanbridge College encourages students to volunteer their time and skills to aid local and global nonprofit organizations and their causes.
NPower is a national 501(c)(3) nonprofit headquartered in New York that provides IT services to other nonprofits and training to young adults across the country. It is dedicated to connecting nonprofits to the best and most affordable IT through a range of managed service, consulting and skilled IT volunteer programs, while also providing IT training to young adults.
