LUTZ, FL, July 12, 2012 (Press-News.org) For the second time this year, Current of Tampa Bay, Inc. volunteers will spend the day at two laundromats on Saturday, July 14, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Current's Laundry Love Project washes and dries the clothes and linens of deserving families for free. The projects will be held at Big Wash College Hill located at 3610 N. 29th St., Tampa, FL 33605, and at Big Wash West Tampa located at 1743 W. Main St., Tampa, FL 33607.
This is Current's second Laundry Love Project at the College Hill location and its first time at the newly-renovated West Tampa location. "Unfortunately, many families simply lack the financial resources to do their laundry on a regular basis. When you add in the fact that many of these families have to use a neighborhood laundromat, doing their laundry often becomes an expensive, daunting and burdensome task. Our organization and our volunteers assist these families with this basic need by simply paying for their laundry to be done," said Current's Founder/President, Jason Sowell.
The two July 14 Laundry Love Projects will be supported by local businesses including Starbucks, a local public relations and marketing firm, Vistra Communications, Reality Church Tampa and Big Wash Coin Laundries.
The Laundry Love Project seeks donations of quarters (rolls of $10), coloring books, crayons, laundry baskets and laundry detergent. Donations can be made at the event on the morning of July 14 or by contacting Jason Sowell at 727.537.9082. More information about this event can be found online at http://www.LaundryByCurrent.org.
