ST. LOUIS, MO, July 14, 2012 (Press-News.org) Smarty Had A Party, an elegant disposable dinnerware online retail store, was not shy about exhibiting their extreme enthusiasm for Independence Day. In fact, leading up to the big day, Smarty instigated an entire month of pre-July 4th celebrations, titled, "4 for the 4th: 4 awesome party ideas 4 the 4th of July 4 all our Smarties." One party idea was carried out each week by Smarty employees who shared the fun by inviting colleagues and friends to the red, white, and blue filled events. Step-by-step party idea instructions, along with actual photos were then posted on Smarty's Party Blog. Smarties (the endearing name bestowed upon all Smarty Had A Party customers) were able to use the guides in order to create their own similar 4th of July festivities. The ideas included patriotic martinis, a rooftop picnic, glow cotton candy, and a paint fight.
Celebrations began with an office cocktail party. Employees toasted the upcoming holiday with red and blue layered patriotic cocktails that were placed in Smarty's very own martini glasses. The week after, Smarty hosted a rooftop picnic in which every food and drink served incorporated the American flag colors. Some menu choices consisted of cream cheese and tomato tea sandwiches, blue chips with salsa, white chocolate dipped strawberries, and champagne. Even the tablecloth, plastic plates, cocktail napkins, and toothpicks used were chosen with the color scheme in mind. Week number three included making light-up cotton candy cocktails, a tasty mid-workday treat all the sugar lovers appreciated. Festivities concluded with a fierce paint fight party. Smarty employees spent their Sunday covering each other in red and blue paint during games of 'capture the flag' and then sitting down for a simple hot dog lunch.
Frieda Aaronson, Smarty Had A Party marketing coordinator, remarked, "Smarty is not just there to provide the party supplies. They are there to provide the party ideas too, each one tested and approved by their very own employees and then shared with the world via their party blog."
