RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, NC, July 15, 2012 (Press-News.org) Longistics (http://www.longistics.com) has announced that its global division, Longistics International, LLC, has re-signed their operations agreement for Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ) 93 with the Triangle J Council of Governments, the grantee of FTZ 93. Longistics International has operated the Research Triangle FTZ 93, adjacent to RDU International Airport in Raleigh, N.C., for over 20 years. FTZs offer compelling advantages for both international companies, for which they provide a profitable entry into the U.S. marketplace, and U.S. manufacturers, for which they can help level the playing field against their global counterparts. Triangle J Council of Governments Executive Director Kirby Bowers signed the agreement, which will run for five years, with a possible extension of 15 additional years.
Along with the re-signing of the operation agreement, N.C. Secretary of State Elaine Marshall presented Pamela Davison, the Triangle J Council of Governments FTZ 93 Administrator, the Order of the Long Leaf Pine, the most valuable award or honor in the state of North Carolina. Created in 1963, the award honors those people with a proven record of service to the state or some other special achievement. Davison received the honor for the countless hours of service she has provided through working with the FTZ for 25 years.
QUOTES:
"Having operated FTZ 93 for more than 20 years, Longistics International is honored to continue to provide our excellent service to our customers, to our state and to our country," said Duane Long, chairman of Longistics and Longistics International.
