SAN DIEGO, CA, July 18, 2012 (Press-News.org) Summer is upon us, and that means it's time to "Let the Sunshine In" for San Diegans across the county. St. Madeleine Sophie's Center, the non-denominational center for nearly 400 adults with developmental disabilities, is hosting its 35th annual fundraiser, Haute With Heart Fashion Show/Luncheon, on August 18, 2012 at the Hilton San Diego Bayfront.
With an expected attendance of 700, the 2012 Haute With Heart runway fashion show will feature a brand new location with plenty of parking, local designers and boutique vendors, a live and silent auction, and complimentary champagne. Modeling on the runway will be St. Madeleine Sophie's Center's students and community leaders, as well as professional and celebrity models.
"Each year this event gets better and better. Our goal is to raise a record $150,000 for our much needed programs and services," said Debra Turner Emerson, Executive Director of St. Madeleine Sophie's Center. "We are extremely grateful to our supporters and sponsors for making this year's event possible."
This year, for the first time, guests will be able to place their bids for the silent auction with personal handheld devices. This will be the one of the first fashion shows in the region to use the new devices.
Sally B. Thornton will return as the Honorary Chair and special honorees include Raffaella and John Belanich as well as St. Madeleine Sophie's Center Auxiliary.
In addition to the fashion show, vendors and auctions, the Haute With Heart event will feature music and dance performances from St. Madeleine Sophie's Center's student performers, the SMSC Singers and Ringers and dance troop.
Producing the fundraiser fashion show, T.V. personality and creator of Fashion Forward , an internationally known fashion production company, Leonard G. Simpson introduced the theme, Let the Sunshine In for the 35th annual show.
