Whether guests are looking to visit a certain region or both countries at once, Trafalgar has flexible guided vacations to suit the needs of everyone, including 24 Independent Mini-Stays and extended Independent Vacations, which allow for more solo exploration and are combinable with other itineraries.

Outback Panorama
On the new 13-day Outback Panorama, guests start their adventure across Australia's rugged countryside beginning in Ayer's Rock and ending in Darwin. With an abundance of Trafalgar's unique Insider Experiences, this trip is all about mingling with the locals and learning about new cultures. In Alice Springs, travelers will learn about the Arrernte People from a local Aboriginal guide before settling down for a special Be My Guest dinner at the Earth Sanctuary World Nature Centre. In Mantaranka, Trafalgar guests head down the beautiful palm-lined walkway to swim in the famous thermal springs. For wildlife lovers, a visit to Kakamandu is a thrill as a local guide takes guests on a cruise of the area's most famous wetland, Yellow Water Billabong, to see a variety of bird species and, with luck, the feared estuarine crocodile basking in the muddy waters.
New Zealand Splendor
Travelers are invited to discover New Zealand's unique culture on the new 17-day New Zealand Splendor, beginning in Auckland and departing from Christchurch. Trafalgar guests will travel the beautiful country as an Insider, meeting with locals and experiencing things they wouldn't be able to if they had traveled on their own. In Rotorua, guests actually have the opportunity to stay with a local family at a traditional New Zealand farm and enjoy the Kiwi hospitality. The hospitality continues in Blenheim, where travelers enjoy a tasting, tour and Highlight Dinner at Georges Michel Wine Estate, a family owned and run winery in the heart of the Marlborough region. Heading over to Twizel, they'll get a taste of the country life at a Be My Guest barbecue lunch at the home of hosts Angie and Stan Taylor and their 600 acre garden. The scenic trip from Te Anau to Queenstown also includes a stop at Milford Sound, where guests will marvel at Bowen Falls and Mire Peak aboard a relaxing cruise.
Australia & New Zealand Panorama
For the best of both countries, travelers can opt for the 15-day Australia & New Zealand Panorama, going from Auckland to Queenstown and Melbourne to Sydney, making all the stops in between that let guests go deep into the heart of the destination. Part of Trafalgar's At Leisure collection, this itinerary gives guests premium sightseeing as well as plenty of time off to explore the areas for themselves. Trafalgar's Local Experts take passengers to discover the wonders of the Great Barrier Reef and Sydney Opera House in Australia, then in New Zealand a Local Maori Guide will take them to the Whakawerawera Thermal Living Village where guests will explore New Zealand's biggest geyser and bubbling mud pools. The highlight of the trip, however, is in Rotorua, where travelers will experience the Realm of Tane, a dramatic blend of a guided tour, character theatre and cultural storytelling, followed by a Maori Hangi Be My Guest dinner with local wine and a concert at the Tamaki Family Marae.
"Our new brochure for the South Pacific was designed to give guests the most authentic experiences possible, with an extensive range of options to suit their travel needs, whether it's a leisurely trip or an independent vacation," says Paul Wiseman, President of Trafalgar USA. "No other guided vacation company arranges for travelers to stay at the private homes of New Zealand farmers or be invited by a family to enjoy a barbecue lunch on their 600 acre property - these are Insider experiences exclusive to Trafalgar."

Just Car Insurance Excited About Appearance of Aventador in The Dark Knight Rises
2012-07-19
The highly anticipated release of Lamborghini's next supercar - the Aventador - weakened the knees of car critics and auto fanatics last year when it was unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show. With all the technological advances inherited from previous vehicle releases, combined with the stealth of a 7-speed automated manual, V12 6.5 litre, 694 horsepower engine, the Italian car giant had already received 18 months worth of car production in the initial phases of vehicle debut.
The Motor Report called it a 'hero' car, and it's obvious how it won the title. In July 2012 ...

You can't always get what you want: Consumers struggle with competing goals
2012-07-18

"Consumers frequently face situations where they can't get everything they want from the options available to them. As competing goals struggle for dominance, conflicts are likely and consumers tend to flip-flop en route to making a decision," write authors Kurt A. Carlson (Georgetown University), Margaret G. Meloy (Pennsylvania State University), and Elizabeth G. Miller (University of Massachusetts Amherst).

Selling on eBay? Get higher bids with a red background

But the color blue can influence consumers to make lower offers when negotiating directly with a seller.
"Red background color induces aggression through a feeling of arousal and it increases aggression relative to blue or gray backgrounds. This causes individuals to make higher bids in auctions but lower offers ...

Kyu Kim (University of Southern California), Gal Zauberman (Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania), and James R. Bettman (Duke University).
