FAIRPLAY, CO, July 19, 2012 (Press-News.org) DiningGrades.com, a leader in promoting clean and healthy restaurant dining, is pleased to announce its status as a finalist to receive a $250,000 small business grant in Mission: Small Business presented by Chase and LivingSocial.
Dining Grades offers consumers tool to grade their restaurant dining experiences based on cleanliness, while providing restaurants with critical data and feedback to improve guest perceptions and food safety.
If awarded the grant, Dining Grades will use the funds for further development of mobile applications and an online interface to provide consumers with an attractive, yet simple, platform for rating restaurants based on cleanliness. The support will also be used to pay for staff salaries, develop quality strategic partnerships, and participate in more effective marketing initiatives.
"DiningGrades.com is honored to be a finalist for this small business grant," said Dr. Harlan Stueven, Founder of Dining Grades. "If awarded, these funds will provide crucial support of our mission."
The Centers for Disease Control estimates about 48 million Americans get food-borne diseases every year - 128,000 are hospitalized, and 3,000 die. Over 40% of these cases are traced directly back to restaurants. Dining Grades is working to spread awareness of clean dining in order to decrease these astonishing numbers and save lives.
