Dallas Attorney Paul Skiermont Earns National Honor for Patent Litigation Expertise

Attorney Paul Skiermont from Dallas' Skiermont Puckett has earned national recognition for his work in patent litigation as a "Life Sciences Star" by LMG Life Sciences.

2012-07-21
DALLAS, TX, July 21, 2012 (Press-News.org) Attorney Paul J. Skiermont, founding partner of the Dallas-based law firm Skiermont Puckett LLP, has been recognized as one of the top patent litigators in the nation by LMG Life Sciences, the only U.S. publication dedicated to the comprehensive analysis of the life sciences industry. He is one of only five attorneys in Texas to receive the honor and one of only 200 nationwide.

Mr. Skiermont was named a "Life Sciences Star" based on more than 1,000 online survey responses and interviews with nearly 600 attorneys, as well as a review of public information and feedback from clients within the industry. Through this process of peer opinion, market feedback and independent research, LMG created its list of "star" attorneys who regularly handle legal matters related to life sciences.

Mr. Skiermont represents a wide range of companies in litigation involving complex science and technology, including pharmaceuticals and other life sciences, telecommunications, aerospace, speech recognition and consumer electronics. His experience in life sciences matters includes serving as co-lead trial counsel in a Hatch-Waxman patent case in which Mr. Skiermont's client prevailed on summary judgment of infringement and non-obviousness after two generic drug manufacturers had already launched infringing generic versions of a leading oral contraceptive. Mr. Skiermont was also a key member of the legal team that succeeded in defeating the landmark antitrust class action involving the antibiotic Cipro.

LMG Life Sciences 2012 is a new resource for pharmaceutical and life sciences executives in the biotech, agritech, pharmaceutical and medical device industries. The publication takes a multidisciplinary approach in identifying experienced legal counsel in practice areas that include intellectual property, regulatory, transactional and non-IP litigation. LMG Life Sciences is published by the Legal Media Group in association with Benchmark: Litigation, Managing IP, and International Financial Law Review.

Skiermont Puckett is a Dallas-based trial litigation firm with experience representing both plaintiffs and defendants in patent infringement lawsuits, antitrust and unfair competition litigation, and other complex commercial cases. More information can be found at http://www.skiermontpuckett.com.
