Following a seven-year NFL career, Howard founded the not-for-profit United Athletes Foundation (UAF) in 2008. UAF is led by a group of professional athletes who understand their unique role in improving the lives of both the athlete fraternity and the general community in its entirety by leveraging their celebrity status to help the cities in which they live.

On Saturday, July 21 at 11:30 a.m., Howard and former University of Memphis and current Carolina Panthers Running Back DeAngelo Williams will speak about financial literacy at AutoZone Park (200 Union Ave.). The public is invited and encouraged to attend the hour-long presentation, RSVPs are recommended by calling the Redbirds' office at 901-722-6050.

The Memphis Redbirds will be playing the Oklahoma City Redhawks that evening at 6:05 p.m. Ticket holders for Saturday's game can also meet Howard and Williams for autographs at 6:15 p.m. on the concourse.

Howard, who intercepted Tom Brady in Super Bowl 38, said, "As a veteran of the NFL, I fully understand and appreciate the ability of professional athletes to positively influence and impact society. This event provides DeAngelo and me an opportunity to educate the community - both young and old - about the importance of finances, so that they can be successful in everything they set out to do."

Approximately 100 professional athletes are associated with UAF, including members of the NFL, NBA, MLB, WNBA and professional boxing. UAF's distinguished Advisory Board includes luminaries such as Ambassador Andrew Young, NFL legend Jim Brown and NBA legend Julius "Dr. J" Erving.
