BARRIE, ON, July 22, 2012 (Press-News.org) Shred North, a local paper shredding company, has announced a planned expansion of services into Eastern Ontario, particularly the communities of Peterborough, Lindsay, Kawartha Lakes, Gravenhurst and Bracebridge to name a few.
Businesses are turning to paper shredding as a means of reducing liability as well as maintaining compliance with legislation. With identity theft on the rise by as much as 250% in some areas of North America, having a document destruction policy in place is more important than ever.
The issue facing several areas of the province is finding a local company to provide document destruction services. "In order to use a secure paper shredding service, often businesses were left to rely on paper shredders traveling from distant urban centers such as the GTA", states Daryl Woytowicz, General Manager of Shred North.
Offering document shredding services to areas in Eastern Ontario is an important one, according to Woytowicz. "There are areas of the province which are underserviced when it comes to paper shredding. We are hoping to help that situation by offering document shredding to these communities".
Shred North is the first business based in Barrie, Ontario to ever be granted membership in the National Association of Information Destruction (NAID). NAID is a national association representing companies that specialize in secure information and document destruction.
Utilizing a state-of-the-art, fuel efficient mobile unit, Shred North reduces fuel consumption and an excessive carbon footprint is minimized through local travel.
