LateRooms.com - Berlin Clubs Gear Up for BerMuDa in November

Berlin Music Days brings the German capital's best clubs together for a celebration of dance music culture.

2010-10-03
BERLIN, GERMANY, October 03, 2010 (Press-News.org) Berlin's reputation as the European capital of electronic music will be further enhanced by a four-day festival of clubbing later this year.

Running between November 3rd and 6th, Berlin Music Days is set to return to the German capital following last year's successful launch event.

Intended as a celebration of the city's famously diverse nightlife, world-renowned DJs and thriving clubs, the festival is known locally as BerMuDa and looks set to bring dance music fans flocking to Berlin hotels from around the world.

With leading nightspots such as Weekend, Watergate, Arena and Horst Kreuzberg taking part, the event will feature special club nights taking place across the city.

In addition, a programme of daytime activities has been organised for those with some energy to spare after a hectic spell of late-night partying. This includes music workshops, industry discussions, new act showcases and photography exhibitions.

Last year's inaugural BerMuDa saw roughly 30,000 people enjoy more than 100 DJ sets and live performances over the course of the festival.

The organisers are eager to improve on that showing and have recruited a sparkling roster of top names to play at Fly BerMuDa, the climactic event of the four days.

Taking place at the Tempelhof Airport site on November 6th, the night will feature DJs such as Sven Vath, Richie Hawtin and Paul Kalkbrenner. Revellers can also look forward to live performances from Tiefschwarz and Booka Shade.

Tickets for Fly BerMuDa are priced at EUR42.50 (GBP36.60) plus booking fee and the music is due to begin at 20:00 local time.

November 6th will also see the Weekend nightspot host a showcase event for Harry Klein, the famous Munich club and record label, as part of BerMuDa.

On November 4th, the Electronic Beats birthday event at Berlin's Radialsystem V is set to feature performances from The Human League, Roisin Murphy and Delphic.

For more information on this event, visit the Berlin Music Days website.

Is Reform Coming Soon for Massachusetts Alimony Laws?

2010-10-03
Much to the disappointment of many, the most recent Massachusetts legislative session closed without changes to the state's alimony laws. Although separate bills had been introduced in both the House and Senate, neither managed to garner sufficient support to pass. Accordingly, Massachusetts remains one of the few states in the country that continues to award alimony for life. Given the amount of debate surrounding this issue, it seems likely that some changes will be coming in the near future. It is unclear, though, what shape these reforms might take. While some ...
