Kazawest appoints Amyn Somani as CEO

Kazawest Services Inc. announced today its new Chief Executive Officer, Amyn Somani, a well-respected Vancouver business leader with extensive experience in business management and service delivery.

The appointment of this experienced leader reflects Kazawest's commitment to continue its growth and to deliver strong value for its customers.

Somani has a strong track record of working with companies to drive customer service excellence, operational leadership, and business growth. He also has extensive project experience managing complex multi-million dollar initiatives including building construction, business system development, data centre implementation, and technological innovation projects.

Prior to his appointment as CEO, Somani assisted numerous organizations in achieving higher levels of performance and business success, including national & multi-national corporations as well as industry groups and not-for-profit organizations.

Most recently Somani was Vice President of Corporate Services at Panago Pizza Inc. where he was an integral part of that company's growth from 130 to over 170 locations nationally. At Panago, Somani was responsible for enterprise wide information technology, customer service & sales operations, as well as the company's largest and most complex projects. He is credited with improving revenues & operational efficiency through innovative strategies including home-based call centre agents as well as leveraging leading edge technologies such as IP phone systems, secure integrated networking, and web-based .NET business applications.

Additional organizations Somani has helped succeed include Telus Corporation (http://www.telus.com) where he led their technology division in launching and growing new technology service offerings across Canada, as well as Microsoft Corporation (http://www.microsoft.com) where he served on the Customer Advisory Council assisting the Redmond-based software company in better servicing its enterprise-level business customers.

Somani has an academic background which includes a Bachelor of Science in Computing Science from Simon Fraser University, as well as executive education at the Ivey School of Business and Stanford Graduate School of Business.

He enjoys giving back to the industry and community and serves on the board of directors for the CIO Association of Canada as well as the Boys' and Girls' Clubs of Greater Vancouver.
