NEW ORLEANS, LA, July 29, 2012 (Press-News.org) The World Trade Center of New Orleans wishes to welcome Jerry Hingle, Executive Director of the Southern U.S. Trade Association, to its Board of Directors.
Jerry Hingle has served as SUSTA's Executive Director for over six years. The organization is an export development trade association composed of the Departments of Agriculture of 15 Southern U.S. states and Puerto Rico. He directs the organization's $10 million promotional campaign aimed at developing export markets for high-value food and agricultural products. SUSTA is headquartered in New Orleans and operates in more than 30 countries worldwide.
Mr. Hingle joined SUSTA after working 10 years with Southern Forest Products Association (SFPA), a trade organization representing the U.S. lumber industry, where he directed the industry's international marketing and trade policy program in more than 20 countries.
He is an appointee to the Louisiana District Export Council, a regional council of international trade advisers appointed by the Secretary of Commerce, and Chairman of the WTCNO's Agriculture Committee. He also serves on Loyola University's Executive Mentor program, providing guidance to students on business skills and career paths.
The World Trade Center of New Orleans, a non-profit organization consisting of over 1,400 corporate and individual members, is recognized by the World Trade Centers Association (WTCA) as the first of what are now over 300 WTCs in almost 100 countries. Through this network, and partnerships with other local, state, and national agencies, WTCNO is able to offer its members unmatched expertise and information on international trade and investment. In 2011, WTCNO welcomed more than 50 foreign diplomats, hosted or partnered in hosting over 50 trade programs, and presented a number of education seminars on how to successfully conduct international business.
