Firm Offers Employers Workplace Bullying Prevalence Surveys

BELLINGHAM, WA, August 06, 2012 (Press-News.org) Beginning August 6 employers can measure the frequency of destructive interpersonal behavior in their organizations for free. The value of assessing the incidence of bulling is (1) to know whether or not there is a problem, (2) to establish an internal baseline before a policy to prevent and correct bullying is implemented, and (3) to compare the organizations rate with the national statistics.

In 2010 the Workplace Bullying Institute conducted a national scientific survey of prevalence of bullying in the U.S. finding that 35% of adult Americans had experienced it.

The anonymous survey for employers includes a measure of the employees' experience identical to the 2010 national survey as well as some standard measures of workplace climate.
