America's Favorite Neighborhood Pet Store to Make Paw Print in N. Virginia This Fall

Pet Supplies Plus Headed to Northern Virginia with Expert Insight, Premium Products and New Jobs

2012-08-06
FAIRFAX, VA, August 06, 2012 (Press-News.org) Fairfax, VA will soon be home to America's favorite neighborhood pet store. Pet Supplies Plus, a group of community-oriented, specialty pet retailers offering a wide array of pet food, goods, grooming services and animal expertise, will open its doors to pets and their people counterparts in October 2012. In addition to offering a diverse selection of services and supplies, the Pet Supplies Plus of Fairfax will create approximately 20 new jobs and is currently accepting applications for store managers, staff members and groomers.

The new pet retailer, located in a 10,000 square foot space at 11054 Lee Highway, will be the first Pet Supplies Plus in the N. Virginia area. Currently, there are more than 250 Pet Supplies Plus locations in 23 Eastern States.

"When we open our doors in October, Fairfax residents will recognize an immediate, noticeable difference from what they are accustomed to at other pet stores," said Dave Bolen, CEO of Pet Supplies Plus. "We truly understand that special bond between owners and their pets, and at the end of the day, we believe that pets own people - and not the other way around."

Pet Supplies Plus also prides itself in employing a professional staff of well-informed animal lovers. Each Pet Supplies Plus recruit undergoes a blended-learning, 3-week training program so they are knowledgeable about a broad range of topics ranging from organic and holistic foods to niche supplies and equipment. Pet Supplies Plus is now hiring customer-centric, pet-loving individuals.

Fairfax residents should also take a quick liking to the new Pet Supplies Plus because of its varied selection of natural pet foods that do not contain any chemically synthetic additives or ingredients, making it easier for locals to provide their pets with healthy meals. The new location will also carry an extensive variety of Made in the USA pet consumables such as wet and dry food, treats, rawhide, chews and more. The Pet Supplies Plus of Fairfax will also hold public pet adoptions from local shelters and regularly host low-cost wellness and vaccine clinics to ensure local pets are healthy, happy and up-to-date on vaccinations.

Founded on the idea that convenient, quality service for busy consumers was lacking in the pet industry, retail veterans, Jack Berry and Harry Shallop, opened the first Pet Supplies Plus in Redford, Michigan in 1988. Since then, the neighborhood-style pet store has become a household name in more than 20 states.
