Construction Underway on Amenity Center at Winthrop Village; New Model Homes Also Open for Viewing

Construction crews are on site and hard at work to build the much-anticipated Amenity Center at Taylor Morrison's Winthrop Village in Riverview.

SARASOTA, FL, August 08, 2012

Construction crews are on site and hard at work to build the much-anticipated Amenity Center at Taylor Morrison's Winthrop Village in Riverview. The company recently hosted a ground-breaking ceremony for the new facility, which is expected to be completed soon. Crews are also in the process of preparing 33 home sites for development in an effort to keep pace with the rising demand for new homes in this popular and growing community.

In other news, Taylor Morrison has opened two new model homes here for public viewing: the Spencer and Ashland model at 11207 Winthrop Street, Riverview, FL 33578.

"We are moving full speed ahead here at Winthrop Village," said Cammie Longenecker, vice president of sales and marketing for Taylor Morrison West Florida. "Home sales are brisk, customer traffic is up - everything is going well. This community has always had a special appeal because of its Traditional Neighborhood Design. The Amenity Center is going to be spectacular, and when it's finished, it will be a tremendous draw for potential homebuyers as well as a wonderful source of recreation and social activities for the residents."

As the centerpiece of the neighborhood's recreational complex, the Amenity Center at Winthrop Village will include a beautiful clubhouse with a state-of-the-art fitness center, furnished gathering room, a catering kitchen and more. Outside will be a resort-style swimming pool and spa with a nearby playground.

The Traditional Neighborhood Design concept that is the heart of Winthrop Village translates into a distinctive community that seeks to re-create a small-town atmosphere while still providing the conveniences of urban living. The curb appeal of the neighborhood is enhanced by eliminating street-facing garages and replacing them with alley-access garages instead. The fronts of the homes are graced with wide lawns and shady front porches where neighbors can sit and visit. Pedestrian-friendly streets make it easy to walk to nearby shopping, dining and more. Publix Supermarket anchors the retail establishments in Winthrop Towne Center, which is also home to multiple restaurants, banks, boutiques and shops, and a day spa and salon.

The newly completed Spencer model is part of Taylor Morrison's Traditional Series collection and can be built with up to five bedrooms to suit the needs of any potential buyer. Popular features include a private first-floor master suite, a chef-friendly kitchen with ample cabinet space, and a convenient breakfast bar that overlooks the generously sized family room. Located just beyond the stairs is an oversized bonus room which can be adapted for multi use. With 2,345 square feet of living space, this home starts in the low $200s.

A second new model home is now ready for public viewing. Also from the Traditional Series, the Ashland is a two-story home with plenty of windows to let in the bright Florida sunshine. The foyer opens to a combined living and dining room, while a spacious kitchen overlooks a breakfast nook and family room. Upstairs are three bedrooms, including a private master suite with large closet and oversized bath. This home includes 2,269 square feet and starts from the high $100s.

Homes in Winthrop Village include two additional plans from the Traditional Series and three designs from the Cottage Series, with prices starting in the mid $100s. Buyers here will be able to enjoy their new home with low homeowner association fees and no Community Development District (CDD) fees.
