Total Wine & More Increases Presence In Southern California With First South Orange County Location

• Store to bring 50 new jobs to Orange County • New location to meet multiple tastes with 13,500 selections • Service team members trained more than 150 hours to knowledgably assist customers

2012-08-09
LAGUNA HILLS, CA, August 09, 2012 (Press-News.org) Total Wine & More, America's largest independent retailer of fine wine, spirits and beer, has enhanced its commitment to Orange County with the announcement of its first South Orange County location in Laguna Hills, Calif., which is expected to open August 16. Total Wine & More offers more than 8,000 wines, 3,000 spirits and 2,500 beers, including hard-to-find labels and locally produced product.

"This is a win for Orange County in every sense," notes David Trone, who co-owns Total Wine & More with his brother Robert Trone. "Our investment in South Orange County will bring new jobs to the community, create a thriving business in a formerly empty big box space, and generate retail sales tax that can bring additional city services to residents."

Large selection is a major theme in the firm's success in each market, Trone notes. "From wine connoisseurs who wish to increase their own rare and fine wine collections, to customers who want to build their own six-pack with six different micro-brewed beers, Total Wine & More will provide the best selection to its customers."

"Our stores are often referred to as a 'toy store for adults,' and browsing through our aisles can become something of a pastime," Trone points out. "While we are very serious about our business, our business can also be a lot of fun. That is why we offer not only the unique, but also all of America's favorites."

In addition, Total Wine & More strives to be the price leader in every market it is in, including Orange County, according to Trone.

"We realize price is important, and yet cost is just one factor. Each member of our sales team is trained for 150 hours prior to working in our stores, and receives continuous training throughout their career with us," he says. "Our team members therefore have a superior ability to help customers find just what they're seeking - from something new, to something organic, to something global."

Total Wine & More's team member training includes education on various regions, production methods, varietals, brew styles, and tasting analysis. The company also offers its employees the opportunity to meet with the world's key wine, beer and spirits producers. Every year, Total Wine treats select team members to a trip to California's major wine regions for a week-long training session, as well as a two-week trip to Europe's key wine regions every other year, to increase their knowledge of product.

The Laguna Hills store will be the 83rd location for Total Wine & More, and its 10th California location. The new store is located at 24001 El Toro Road in Laguna Hills, a former Circuit City location.

Total Wine & More operates 82 wine superstores in 13 states, with expansion reaching 14 states by the end of 2012. The company's vast selection of products, combined with low everyday prices and expertly trained wine associates, brings a unique shopping experience to the customer. Total Wine & More has the distinction of being Beverage Dynamic's 2008 Wine Retailer of the Year, Market Watch's 2006 Retailer of the Year, and Wine Enthusiast's 2004 Retailer of the Year. Since opening its first store in 1991, Total Wine & More has been committed to being the premier wine retailer in every community that it serves.
