Bring the Latin Heat: Laguna Beach 1st Annual Salsa Dance Contest Rekindles the Fire

No place on Earth has a more beloved, cultural and artistic atmosphere than Laguna Beach. Locale Latin Lounge, Rosa Cantina in Olamendis located 1100 South Coast Highway #202 Laguna Beach, Ca 92651 is looking to bring Cuban and Latin Flavor with its first annual Salsa Dance Invitational. On September 28-29th the kick-off party beginning by inviting all salsa lovers with a once in a lifetime chance to dance and intermingling with Salsa dancers from all over California.

Rosa Cantina takes its night life seriously by teaming up with World Class Ballroom and Latin Professional Eric Romero to help kick start this event. Eric Romero has been a competing ballroom dance professional dancer for 15 years and will bring his wealth of experience in working in some of the best Ballroom and Latin dance industry. Eric is most notably recognized for the group classes he teaches at The Art of Fitness every Tuesday at 7:30p.m and his work with the Dancing With The Stars cast.

"Who can forget William Levy's hot moves on Dancing With The Stars? Salsa dancing is even more popular than before because of moves like that; say World Class Salsa Coach, Eric Romero. I see an enormous amount of people coming into the studios I teach at wanting to swivel their hips and dance to Latin beats. We could not think of a better way to spice up Laguna Beach with adding this Salsa Invitational.

Verak and Cindy Maska state Although this competition will hopefully draw business to local restaurants the intent is to bring Salsa dance enthusiast from all over California into our beautiful Laguna Beach area, adding cultural diversity.

Beginning 26 years ago as a locally-owned and -operated business Olamendis Laguna Beach, now, Rosa Cantina in Olamendis Laguna Beach have won several awards including: Top Business of The Year Laguna Beach 2001, Best of the Best Ceviche, Favorite Places Award.
By the end of 2012, Laguna Locales, Verak Cindy will hope to make Rosa Cantina in Olamendis Laguna Beach the great hot spot for great dinner and a Latin dancing.

Spicing-up the Challenge

The Salsa Sizzle Salsa Dance competition is a two night competition with semi-finalist selected on Saturday afternoon with finals on Saturday night. Top prize is $1000 cash, with other prizes being given for second and third place. Participants will also receive gift bags for their participation in the event.

Entries for contestants for this Salsa Invitational, $150 per couple, also includes admission to the Salsa Pre-Party on September 28th Pre-Party and spectators tickets can be purchased together for a discount @ $30 or solo spectator tickets to the competition for $25 at the door. Both contest and party will be taking place in the restaurant, this Salsa Dance Contest will feature 40 of the best Salsa Dance Couples and over 100 Salsa enthusiasts from California.

Dj OC Privilege, will entertain audiences with music and an opportunity to dance throughout the day and all night long.

This competition is open to ALL Salsa Dancers, professional and amateur. Contestants must be 21 years of age to participate.

Deadline for entries is August 30, 2012.

During the event, a judging panel of 3 will select winners of the salsa invitational based on different categories. Attendees will also place their own votes for the People�EUR s Choice award.

As far as we know, this will be the first Salsa Dance competition ever in Laguna Beach, says Dance Pro Eric Romero and Rosa Cantina Laguna Beach restaurant owners. Many of our clients and patrons have shown us amazing support in helping to kick off this event. We cant wait to bring some Latin Heat to Laguna Beach. It's going to get much hotter around here!
