ALBANY, NY, August 16, 2012 (Press-News.org) Michael W. Kessler, an Albany, New York attorney was elected national chairman of the Traumatic Brain Injury Litigation Group (TBLIG) of the American Association for Justice at its annual meeting on July 30, 2012 in Chicago. TBILG is an organization of attorneys who have a specialized interest in representing individuals who have suffered from traumatic brain injuries.

Mr. Kessler is a partner in the Albany personal injury law firm of Rosenblum, Ronan, Kessler & Sarachan and concentrates his practice on representing individuals who have suffered catastrophic injuries. He has previously served on the Executive Board of TBILG as well as on the Board of Directors of the Brian Injury Association of New York State. He has been invited to lecture on traumatic brain injury topics by the North American Brain Injury Society, the Brain Injury Association, and numerous other groups across the United States and in other countries as well.

According to the United States Centers for Disease Control, each year an estimated 1.7 million people sustain a traumatic brain injury (TBI), and TBI is a contributing factor to almost one-third of all injury-related deaths in the United States. About 75 percent of brain injuries that occur each year are concussions or other forms of mild TBI. And although the majority of persons with a concussion recover within a year, a significant percentage do not ever recover, and these people may suffer devastating lifetime consequences from a brain injury.

In addition to falls, construction and motor vehicle accidents, brain injuries may occur as a result of medical malpractice including delayed delivery at birth or the delayed diagnosis of meningitis.

With all these changes, the thought of watching popular television programs without having to sit through commercials seems the next logical step -- a step Dish Network is attempting ...
