BRIGHTON, ENGLAND, August 16, 2012 (Press-News.org) Yorkshire-based, family-run sportswear retailer, SportsShoes.com today launches an infographic titled 'Yorkshire's Gold' to celebrate the county's sporting success this summer.
Founded by Bradford City FC legend Bruce Bannister, the retailer has a strong sporting heritage of its own and the staff are immensely proud of the achievements of local athletes at this year's Games. It is hoped that the graphic will be shared and enjoyed by Yorkshire residents who are still glowing, having seen their countymen and women win seven gold medals, two silver medals and two bronze medals in the past two weeks.
The infographic shows where in Yorkshire each of the medallists is from or is based, as well as the locations of the Golden Postboxes. It also shows exactly where Yorkshire would have finished in the medal table; 12th, had the county competed independently of Great Britain, as well as highlighting other Yorkshire sporting heroes of years gone by. These include 1966 World Cup winning goalkeeper Gordon Banks and Tony Jacklin, the first even British winner of the US Open.
Brett Bannister, MD of SportsShoes.com says: "It's been absolutely fantastic to see the achievements of Yorkshire athletes this year.
"Being from Yorkshire we couldn't be more proud and you can really feel the buzz in the air when you're out and about.
"I'm really looking forward to seeing the legacy; we've already seen demand for running shoes peak during the Games which suggests that they've encouraged more people to get active, and that's fantastic."

Television is not what it used to be. Once upon a time, viewers not only had to perform a small fete of acrobatics with antennas to get decent pictures, but also actually had to get up and turn dials to change channels. With the advent of cable and satellite television, the remote control and the ability to record programming on a digital video recorder, or DVR, it appears those days are over.
With all these changes, the thought of watching popular television programs without having to sit through commercials seems the next logical step -- a step Dish Network is attempting ...
